Nic has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember but being self taught has always felt to be outside the establishment. If pushed to categorize his art, it would belong to "folk art" or "outsider art" ; art that until recently has tended to be disregarded by the mainstream.

A long term practioner in martial arts, interests in eastern philosophy and art have over time intertwined and informed each other .

Throughout the last 20 years, Nic has continued to paint, drawing inspiration from a search for deeper understanding. Over the last couple of years, he has worked with groups of people with a range of challenging needs; facilitating projects that are both inclusive and rewarding, something he is keen to develop. He lives in a quiet village in the foothills of the Lake District with his life's companion, Lesley, and a wonderful daughter - oh, and a slightly odd cat!
